Offense explodes as Barons roll on Diamond Day.

Saturday's Diamond Day baseball games didn't help BCMS in the standings. Johnson County isn't part of the MGMSAA and the East Laurens contest didn't count. What they did do was allow the Barons to flex their offensive muscles as they put 35 runs on the board in two games.

Against Johnson County, eight runs in the first two innings erased an early 1-0 deficit. JoCo got one more in the third. Bleckley answered with four as the Barons run-ruled the Trojans 12-2.

Austin Jones had six strikeouts in five innings pitched. Caleb Slaughter was 3 for 4. Bryant Trice was 2 for 3. Jace McGonagill and Cal Young were each 1 for 2.

BC, playing as visitor against East Laurens, sent 15 men to the plate as part of a 12-run top of the first. ELMS scored twice in the home half of the inning. A four-run second and seven runs in the fourth powered the Barons to an easy 23-2 win.

Austin Williams had six strikeouts in four innings and went 3 for 4 from the plate with a double. Cal Young was also 3 for 4. Austin Jones was 2 for 2. Caleb Slaughter was 2 for 3 with an inside the park home run and a double. Dylan Churchwell was 2 for 3 with a double.

Bryant Trice and Landon Anderson were 2 for 3. Caleb Wynne and Austin Simmons were 2 for 4. BCMS hosts JR Trippe Monday at 4 pm.
