BCHS closes out home season with sweep.

If there was a good night for a home sweep, this was it. Friday, Bleckley closed out the home basketball season against Southeast Bulloch. For the first time this year, both teams walked out happy.

The Lady Royals led 38-18 going into the fourth quarter against SEB. Baskets by Shakira Basby and Tyresha Williams put the lead over 20. Reserves saw playing time in the latter part of the quarter as Bleckley rolled 50-36.

Rickenya Jenkins was fouled on this drive to the basket.


Tyresha Williams had 15 points. Rickenya Jenkins added 12.

Raven Owens sets to shoot.


Brentine Taylor scored the first five points as part of a 10-2 opening run. A second 10-2 run gave the Royals a 20-4 lead. Bleckley's 9-1 start to the second propelled them to a 36-14 halftime lead.

Vidal Nelson gets free for a layup.


Up 44-26 after three, reserves got most of the playing time in the fourth. In a game that wasn't as close as the final score, the Royals won 50-35. Taylor finished with 15. Vidal Nelson led the way with 18.

Bleckley plays at Wilcox County Saturday. JV games tip at 4 pm with varsity to follow.
