Taylor gets game winner as MGC survives at East Georgia.

| Coming off career win 200 for head coach Scott Moe Thursday in Waycross, Middle Georgia College traveled to Swainsboro to complete their season series with East Georgia College. The Warriors led by 19 points in the second half before EGC rallied. Down two with time running down, Brentine Taylor completed a three-point play to give the Warriors an 88-87 win. Taylor finished with 18 points and six rebounds. MGC hosts Albany Tech Monday at 7:30 pm. |

BCMS starts soccer season at Toombs Kickoff Classic.

| BCMS got a pre-season tuneup Saturday as they traveled to Lyons for the Toombs Kickoff Classic. A young Lady Barons squad took the field, super scorer Taylor Craig was amongst several players who moved to high school last year. BC was also without three injured current eighth grade players. They lost to West Laurens 2-0 and lost to JR Trippe 4-0. |

| A healthy Barons squad won both their games. After a 5-1 win versus Dodge County, Clay Blanton's first half goal with 13 seconds left proved to be the game-winner in a 1-0 win versus JR Trippe. Regular season play begins Tuesday at West Laurens. Girls play at 4 pm with boys to follow. |

Cochran resident Heather Zaresky has always had a love of animals. Distressed over seeing so many put down without chance of adoption, she founded the Georgia Canine Rescue and Rehabilition Shelter located on Mac Thompson Road.

Lady Barons bagging groceries for basketball banquet.
The Lady Barons basketball team will be bagging groceries on February 11 at Piggly Wiggly starting at 10 am. Funds collected will go toward their end of the season banquet.
