A better day at Southern Pines.

This week, the Lady Royals are holding tryouts for the 2010 season. Tuesday, the coaching staff got a look at the players as Bleckley played three scrimmages at Southern Pines.

It was also an opportunity to wash the proveribal bad taste out of their mouths after some frustrating games played just last weekend there.

Game one was against Perry. BCHS used a seven-run third inning to blow open a 2-1 game. In the 9-3 win, ten players had hits for the Lady Royals. The big inning proved to be big again versus Rutland.

Lindsey Dabbs' two-run single in the fourth started a six run rally, all with two outs. Bleckley won 8-2. Dabbs was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. Jill Couch was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI. Kelsey Darsey was 1 for 2.

Their final opponent of the day was West Laurens. This time, the big inning happened for the visitors as the Lady Raiders scored five in the second to erase an early 2-0 Bleckley lead. BCHS lost 5-4. Bailey Bolinger was 1 for 2.

The Lady Royals have their first home game August 18 versus West Laurens.
